CPCU Success

The Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters Society (CPCU) is a community of credentialed property and casualty insurance professionals who promote excellence through ethical behavior and continuing education. Prior to their annual meeting in Las Vegas, CPCU came to us looking for new and reinvigorated look for their 2011 ad campaign that visually signified the value of a CPCU designation, the definition of success in this industry. CGC did just that, beginning with a print campaign consisting of five different ads. We then worked on a literature kit comprised of a 12-page brochure, inserts, a postcard mailer and a pocket folder. As the annual meeting approached, CPCU wanted to make another powerful statement and communicate the newly designed branding to the members in attendance. CGC translated the imagery designed for the collateral pieces into a series of six large retractable banners that boldly broadcasted CPCU's message in a cost effective and convenient manner.

The world of stock photography enables designers to create some very cost effective projects by providing volumes of hi-res professionally photographed shots, immediately available for download. The CPCU project was a good example of needing quality images to properly convey the level of excellence CPCU stands for. And, if you happen to have a brother-in-law traveling through Europe during the time of your next design project, maybe you too can use one of his beautiful photos in your brochure. Just be sure you get him to sign the release form! Thanks Allen.

Our Favorite Project

Our custom magazine covers are by far our favorite projects to design and create. Usually given as gifts at parties or functions, they always generate an uproar of laughter making any occasion even more memorable. We have created covers for milestone birthdays, retirements, engagements, even job promotions. Typically we begin with a photo of the guest of honor, then some hints about what makes the person so unique and special. We cleverly spin these tid bits into headline stories, and with a little Photoshop magic, viola... your special person instantly becomes famously featured on the cover of any magazine. Presenting the finished magazine is always a delight and the highlight of any party. It's a gift that will be treasured for a very long time.

CGC Helps Camelot Announce Big News

Philadelphia's 6ABC Action News covered an important announcement where Boston based "Jobs For The Future" will be partnering with Philadelphia's Camelot Excel South to create a unique collaboration for "second chance" learners, and serve as a model project for educators across the country.

Excel South is part of Camelot's Accelerated High School program located in Juniata Park. Jobs For The Future explained how impressed they have been with the phenomenal academic achievements by the Camelot program and with the handling of alternative education in the City of Philadelphia by Mayor Nutter. Just days prior to the event, CGC learned that our help was needed.

CGC was asked to create a set of visuals for the announcement which included an invitation, statistical display boards and a backdrop featuring logo graphics and photography all generated by CGC. With little time to spare, CGC was able to provide what was needed in time for Camelot's important event. And, we were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the work on the evening news (Watch here). Congratulations to Excel South and the inspiring people at Camelot for Kids.

Blake Development

Award-winning real estate developer Sam Blake has been developing properties throughout the Philadelphia region for more than a decade. The custom nature of his projects makes them gems in the real estate market, and deserving of a more refined and representative brand identity. CGC began this process by creating a professional logo that immediately became part of Blake's communications and business operations. CGC was also hired to develop a website where completed and in-progress projects could be broadcast to the market. We designed the site and then hired the technical skills of Running Pump to program and launch the new site.

One truly must see the work Blake does to appreciate the quality, the style and the attention to historical detail that makes his properties so valued and appreciated. As part of our services, we were asked to visit recently completed projects to photograph the properties and then upload the images to the website. See for yourself. blakedevelopment.info

The Farm & Fisherman

Farm-to-table style dining is a rapidly returning trend in Philadelphia. Chef Josh Lawler had been planning and preparing to open a brand new restaurant in Philadelphia called The Farm & Fisherman but he needed some help establishing his look and style as well as promoting his fresh new establishment. Conversing with Lawler, CGC got a feel for the type of establishment he was looking to build and then we went to work. While MAC4 Communications developed a marketing strategy for the business, CGC created and developed numerous logo concepts for consideration. Understanding that the logo would be used in so many ways, it had to be fresh and unique like Lawler's vision, yet functional and flexible to be featured on everything from menus, to gift cards, etchings and engravings, a street sign and every promotion effort down the road. The resulting mark was a relaxed and playful icon that can be seen hanging at the front door at 1120 Pine Street in Philadelphia.

An Allstar Event

In 2011, CGC was asked to provide graphics and signage for AstraZeneca's annual Take Your Child to Work Day. With an "AZ Allstars" theme, CGC created the logo and then all the necessary components for visually appealing, friendly and colorful childlike graphics… from handheld guide signs and posters to buttons and bags.

Cyber School Success

21st Century Cyber Charter School was a creative learning and eye-opening experience for us at CGC. The school is an online system where specific types of students who are unable to attend regular public and private schools can receive virtually the same education but completely online. This enables some extremely talented and gifted young people to pursue other interests while keeping up with their academics.

21CCCS really challenged CGC by providing us with an opportunity to completely redesign their public website, their catalogs and provide an entirely new marketing direction for promoting the school. The biggest part of this challenge was that we were going to be held to a very tight budget. With the field of play established, CGC squeezed every drop out of every effort we made in creating the new program. CGC even went out into the community and neighborhoods to photograph and create the imagery we needed for the project, saving the Client thousands of dollars.

Today, largely due to good planning during the design phases, 21CCCS is able to regularly update and maintain their site because it was actually programmed in an easily editable code language specifically developed with this flexibility in mind.
